It’s that time of year when many of us resolve to get in shape and shed a few pounds. Those of us at The Manor Group are part of that group of resolution makers and struggle with keeping up with our goals once the first few weeks of January have passed.
A commonly heard excuse for not going to the gym is lack of time. We are all super busy with kids, jobs and Netflix, right? Fortunately, we offer 24-hour access to our fitness center. It’s already free to our residents but we make sure it’s open all the time. No holiday closures or bad weather delays! Plus, if Netflix is still taking up too much of your free time, we provide complimentary WIFI so you can get your binge on while you work your bulge off!
Another way to keep yourself on track is to find a buddy. Walking club, Zumba classes and weight loss meetings are just a few of the wonderful community activities we have hosted so residents can get help in reaching their goals. Tell us what would help you stay accountable.
We wish you a fit and healthy 2017 and hope your resolutions become good habits. Remember that our pool season is just a few months away!
The holiday season brings favorite holiday traditions to Gateway Apartments. One of our most treasured is the Salvation Army Angel Tree we put up in our community building in November. Tags are placed on a small tree which indicate the first name, gender and age of a child, from newborn to 12 years old.
This year we were incredibly overwhelmed with the generosity of our residents! Donations of holiday gifts, clothing and coats were brought in by residents and team members. We delivered gifts for 40 are children to help make their holidays bright and warm.
We had a great time at Malotesi Wineries in the summer and we’re looking forward to our upcoming tour on Friday, October 16th.
Fall foliage will be at its peak for a wine/beer tasting trip and tour of Grovedale Winery and RiverBarge Brewing Company.
Gateway residents love it that we provide the transportation and snacks!
Please join us for our Open House on Sunday, March 15, from 10-2 and Saturday, March 21, from 10-2.
Our annual holiday party will be on Tuesday, December 17th from 5:30-7:30 at the community building. Please let us know if you are attending by calling the rental office by Thursday, December 12th to help with our planning.
With the holiday season here, we just want to also remind everyone that we will be closing the rental office at 3:00 pm on Christmas Eve. The offices will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
If any maintenance emergencies occur when the office is closed, you should call our Maintenance Emergency Number: (866) 613-8014.
Don’t forget about our Annual Food Drive. With Thanksgiving a week away, we could still use some non-perishable goods to donate to the Al Beech West Side Food Pantry. We will continue through the end of November and into the month of December for the rest of the holiday season to help those in need. Over 100 items are collected each Thanksgiving and Holiday Season, and we can only do that with the help of our wonderful residents. Call Gateway’s rental office today if you have any questions.
On September 18 at Gateway Apartments, and on September 20 at East Mountain Apartments, benefit dinners were held to raise money for the United Way of Wyoming Valley. Together they raised and donated $600 for their charity.
Gateway Manager, Kelly Diltz, and East Mountain Manager, Melissa Cullipher, recently went to the United Way of Wyoming Valley’s office to deliver the check personally, where this picture was taken. The complexes also received a joint letter of appreciation for their donation that can be read below, as well as pictures of the two events.
East Mountain Apartments:
Gateway Apartments is hosting a Spaghetti Dinner night to benefit the United Way of Wyoming Valley. The benefit will take place Wednesday, September 18 from 4:30-6:30 pm at the Community Building. If you can’t join us at the Community Building but still wish to participate, take-out will be available. Please contact the rental office for more information. We’ve also highlighted the event in our September newsletter.
No need to let the heat get you down! Cool off with ice cream and assorted toppings.
Join us at the pool on Wednesday, July 17 from 5:30-7:00pm for our Ice Cream Social. In case of rain, the social will be held in the community building.
